We are currently looking for several undergraduate research assistants to join our team! STAR Lab is a fun and supportive environment where undergraduates get to learn about how research is done through a hands on process. All undergraduates are mentored by one of our graduate students as well as Dr. Sala-Hamrick and many go on to present posters at conference, write honors theses or take part in other activities to disseminate their work. If you’re interested in joining, we’d like to hear from you! Testimonials from past/current STAR Undergraduate Research Assistants.
“The STAR Research Collaborative has given me so many opportunities to grow as I narrowed in on my research interests. I love getting hands on experience in the field of research and feel like I am contributing to projects that can change the world. I am so thankful for the mentorship I received in the short time I have been here with never a time where I felt unsupported. Everyone together works to create an accepting, encouraging, and dedicated community that I will forever be grateful to have been a part of as I go on to other ventures.”
“I have grown immensely in my short time here at the STAR Lab. I have worked on many projects and have gained valuable experience that I will use for my entire research career. I have been given many opportunities for growth as well as been adequately supported so that I may flourish and develop as a researcher. Research can seem a bit intimidating at first, but the STAR Lab made it approachable and made my transition into working as a researcher easy. I’d recommend the STAR Lab to any undergraduate that is looking for research experience before graduate school.”
